Reimagining the In The Zone era:
A THREAD.
For the purposes of this thread, we are going to pretend Britney never injured her knee, she wasn’t blacklisted by Clear Channel and the era was able to be properly finished.
1ST SINGLE: Toxic
Release Date: October 14, 2003
Chart Peak: #1

The video would remain the same. This song gives that full lead single energy we know/love and would‘be been a HUGE hit to start off the era. The single would be a top-selling song of 2003 and 2004.
ALBUM RELEASED
Release Date: November 12, 2003
Chart Peak: #1

The album would debut at #1 and stay there for multiple weeks. It would gain critical acclaim and be named as one of the most influential pop albums of all time.
2ND SINGLE: Breathe On Me
Release Date: January 13, 2004
Chart Peak: #6

This single would debut in the top 20 because Toxic would still be going strong. MV similar to the tour performance. It would rise to a top 10 peak despite the video being slated for being too sexual.
3RD SINGLE: The Answer
Release Date: May 10, 2004
Chart Peak: #4

The video would be extremely ethereal. Imagine the Fantasy commercial as a full video for this song. Britney serves ethereal fairy vibes and chases her Prince Charming.
4TH SINGLE: Everytime/Outrageous (feat. Snoop Dogg)
Release Date: July 10, 2004
Chart Peak: #14/#7

Everytime is released to Adult Contemporary while Outrageous is released to Pop/Urban. The videos would dominate TRL and critics would praise the double single release.
IN THE ZONE DELUXE
Release Date: September 22, 2004

The album would be re-released with a few new tracks before a short 4th leg of the Onyx Hotel Tour would be announced to travel South America, Asia and Australia.
5TH SINGLE: Me Against The Music (Desi Kulcha Remix) [feat. Janet Jackson & Madonna]
Release Date: September 22, 2004
Chart Peak: #1

The video would be mostly the same, but with more Asian influences throughout and would be seen as a legendary female collab in music history.
PROMO SINGLE: Brave New Girl
Release Date: October 20, 2004
Chart Peak: #29

In this reality, the movie 13 Going On 30 doesn’t get released until late 2004. Brave New Girl is a promotional single for the movie and does decently for not having promo outside of the movie.
6TH SINGLE: My Prerogative/Do Somethin’
Release Date: January 5, 2005
Chart Peak: #12/#16

Another double single is released to give a last push to the album. My Prerogative has the same video, but Do Somethin’ has some backstage tour footage with her dancers included.
After this, the era is considered over. Britney would move on to Original Doll/Blackout from here. If you want to see me reimagine other eras, let me know!
