A grandson who has been handling his maternal grandfather& #39;s business for quite some time, has a lot of insecurities.
He fears:
- getting kicked out of the business
- instability
- having nothing of his own
- living in a state of fear
- not getting his due
- taunts

His family shouldn& #39;t have brushed his concerns under the carpet; they should & #39;ve dealt with him differently. They should have appreciated him; should have made him feel secure. But I think it& #39;s too much to expect from a desi household,

Moving onto Basim, his insecurities definitely affected his thought process and he started using anger and "I wanna go abroad" chant as coping mechanisms. He never really wanted to go abroad. He just wanted to uproot his insecurities.

#IshqJalebi Going abroad would have benefited him in many obvious ways, but the most useful would have been - a chance to get rid of his family& #39;s taunts. He desperately needed space. He needed to run away from a family whose negligence affects him negatively; pains him.

If I could give him one advice, I would have asked him to vent out; to cry; to openly ask for what he wants and rightfully deserves - appreciation and assurance.

Even if ended in vain, he would have a clear conscience. Most of us, when angry with our parents, resort to misbehaving. We hardly ever tell the problem like it& #39;s needed to be told. Effective communication can solve 50 % of our problems and the rest can be solved by giving space.

Now #BelSim. Why didn& #39;t Basim realize his love for Bela earlier? Majorly because he saw her as a competitor who& #39;s always forgiven for her mistakes and who& #39;s very much stable in comparison to him. What he didn& #39;t notice was - the reason.

Bela had always been subservient. She never talked back. She just obeyed Bau Ji. The respect and the love she got, was her reward and more than that, her due for putting BauJi above her own self.

Not that BauJi loves Basim any less, but it& #39;s natural.. When a person talks to you in a pleasant way, you also start talking to him sweetly. Languages of love and hate, both are understood. What& #39;s not understood is the hateful language of ego!

I, personally, am not a fan of Bela& #39;s strategy. Nor do I endorse Basim& #39;s but his, definitely, is more natural and human. I would have loved a third strategy having Bela& #39;s sweet and respectful way of talking mixed with Basim& #39;s outrightness.

You should discuss your problems with your family. They directly affect you and you should let them know this. At the same time, you shouldn& #39;t be disrespectful, and should also try to observe the matter from their pov, because they don& #39;t need to sacrifice every damn time.

Coming back to BelSim, Basim started realizing his love for Bela when other men showed interest in her. She was one person, he always deemed as his own. He was unknowingly relying on her light and when that light started to get dim, he entered the danger zone.

His whole life, Basim just kept thinking about the things he didn& #39;t have. But for the first time, he has started wanting what has been his - Bela& #39;s love. He follows his heart now, and heart is such a wholesome guide. In the company of its partner faith, it will lead Basim right.

Lastly, I wish Basim, whose name literally means smiling, to always keep smiling.
Indeed, a brilliantly written character nailed to perfection by Wahaj Ali.
