because the covid situation has gotten so bad in india, there's barely any cremation sites or burial places currently available, the ones that are have become very expensive so the government and a few villagers have resorted to dumping dead bodies in the yamuna and ganga rivers
these 2 rivers are incredibly sacred to us, and often people use it to bathe because it is considered holy water. to contaminate this with dead bodies, especially covid affected bodies is rude and wrong

a way to help would be to donate or spread awareness of how bad the covid situation is in india + please check on your indian oomfs, even if they don't live in india, many of us have almost all of our family living in india and its obviously not going to be okay
