6 years ago, when I interviewed with Amazon, my recruiter Katie provided a lot of guidance on what topics I should prepare for the role.

I didn't have a lot of interview experience, and her help was critical in getting me the offer.

If you are in the progress of an interview, don't be shy to ask the recruiter what's going to be covered.

Data science is very broad, and nobody remembers everything on top of our head, and we all need time to prepare.

Asking recruiters for help doesn't make you less attractive as a candidate!

Recruiters don't usually vote on you, and it's their job to help the right candidates with potential to get hired.

We all heard of or have experiences in recruiting 'horror stories' when scheduling went wrong, but rarely see positive stories about recruiters.

I believe most of the recruiters are doing their best to help us.

Fast forward to 6 years later, I have grown from a junior BI engineer to a senior data scientist, and Katie has become a Principal Executive Recruiter.

I only ran into her a few times in the elevator, but I want to say thank you Katie and wish you all the best!

Never underestimate the recruiter you talk to during your interview process.
