It's incredibly hard for me to accept a "profile in courage" framing regarding Rep. Liz Cheney being removed from GOP leadership this Weds. when she was only elected to that position in the first place specifically because of her lack of character + courage over the past decade.
Maybe it's harsh, but it's also true: Liz Cheney is partly to blame for creating and enabling the GOP as we now see it. She helped make this. I just can't bring myself to feel sorry for her and contribute to some of the fawning I've seen regarding her.
You know when I'll cheer for Liz Cheney?

When she publicly offers contrition for directly enabling what we now see with the Republican Party, for being completely fine with bad faith politics when it was to her advantage.

That would show character. That would show courage.
