Having been that hire myself - it’s not enough for folks to invite BIPOCs into a workspace for ‘representation’, and then think your job is done.

Don’t abandon them. Build systems of support and listen to them when they tell you what they need.
If your ‘diversity hire’ is going to be expected to build their own support network, then that ought to be added to their job description, and they should get paid for that work too. Keep your eyes open for the hidden labor BIPOC take on in those kinds of spaces.
The days of asking free labor from BIPOCs as far as educating, building networks, all that - need to be dead and gone. We pay people for their expertise, and this is absolutely a skill set, oftentimes built on a lifetime of experience.

Put it in your budget.
