All these people crying, wanting more French players in the lineup don’t have a clue.
I’ve been coaching minor hockey at an elite level for last 20 years, hockey in Quebec has gone to shits, it’s terrible to be honest.

It’s all about money, it’s not about skill anymore.

You want your kid to play the highest levels? Good, he needs to go to this pre camp and that training camp and then this session and that session, and of course every step costs you more money than the last one. Then you make the team, better be ready to re mortgage your house.

Every so called elite team ends up with 5 6 players MINIMUM that have no business playing an elite level, but mommy and daddy are willing to fork the bill.

It’s a sad reality, I may hurt some by saying that as you may feel targeted but it’s what hockey in Quebec has become.

The number of Quebec born players in the NHL continues to drop and it’s not by fluke. The minor system here is in deep trouble and until the decision makers accept it and truly try to fix it, instead of just making money, it’s only going to get worse.
