Feels great when I pick up my very small dose of a pain management narcotic I’ve been on *for years* and the @Walgreens pharmacist tries to sell me Narcan.

For the third time 🤦🏻‍♂️

PSA: people with chronic pain aren’t drug addicts.
We are prescribed medications, and the vast majority of us use them as directed.

We’re not trying to get high.

We’re trying to live with less pain.
I also have anxiety and medical-related trauma, so when a @Walgreens pharmacist suggests I buy Narcan, my mind starts to race.

“Maybe I should keep it around? What if I don’t and then DIE BECAUSE OF IT?!”

And then I feel ashamed for taking 15mg daily of methadone.
Here’s the thing:

The pharmacist *was* trying to shame me.

She said, “I guess if you take it as directed you have nothing to worry about, but, y’know...”

Then she gave me a knowing look like, ‘We both know what’s going on here.’

She acted like she was trying to save my life.
