The Israel/Palestinian conflict is a very complex issue. One side deals with occupation, the other side deals with incoming rockets. When I was a Republican and a religious Jew, it was easy to always side with Israel.
As a less religious Jew who is no longer Republican, I see the way the Israeli government treats the Palestinian people, there is no justification for that, but at the same time, there is no justification for Hamas to aim rockets at Israeli civilians.
A huge part of the problem is bad-faith actors on both sides. They share the propaganda that demonizes both Israelis and Palestinians without the facts of the situation that caused the escalation. It fuels the fire that perpetuates the never-ending conflict.
In a nutshell, it's more than OK to condemn the oppression of the Palestinians as well as the terrorism from Hamas.
