A week after it happened, @MrAndyNgo and @JackPosobiec spread false reports about the Marvin Scott III protest in Plano, claiming a gun was brandished by a protester. @PlanoPoliceDept released a statement about what happened, which aligns with my and other local reporting. (1/)
The man they framed as a brave patriot was in fact responsible for assaulting a woman. Charges have been filed. The protester they claimed pointed a gun didn& #39;t have a gun and broke no laws, according to Plano police. (2/)
Ngo and Posobiec are dangerous grifters who have stirred up false outrage, which has resulted in an increase right wing extremist chatter on Telegram (3/) https://twitter.com/EFJBGC/status/1391835891409227778?s=19">https://twitter.com/EFJBGC/st...
It also prompted this now deleted tweet by our Attorney General, Ken Paxton, whose wife is an elected representative in very county where Marvin Scott III died in custody. (4/)
Paxton likely got his info via Ngo or Posobiec. Both shared wildly inaccurate claims about the incident which have been debunked by Plano Police. (5/)
This is a great example of why local journalism is so critical. Please support local independent journalists. (6/) https://www.dallasweekly.com/articles/crazed-man-swings-at-protesters-in-plano/">https://www.dallasweekly.com/articles/...
After he deleted his previous tweet, @kenpaxtontx has doubled down with this press release (7/)
He claims that the man "slapped a person& #39;s hand out of his face" which is not at all what happened. A 6& #39;7" man tried to slap the phone out of a woman& #39;s hand. He was the aggressor.

As a side note, I& #39;m still blocked by @kenpaxtontx, a man accused of bribery and other abuses of his office by multiple former aides (8/)
