A thread and my two cents, which don't mean much:
Here is why competitive golf sucks and they need to have a @MSHSAAOrg official at every postseason sight:
A Joplin golfer held the pin out on the 18th hole and tapped in from 6 inches one handed to finish out with a 76.

One of the kids in his group while at the table to sign the scorecard after the round said it was a two-stroke penalty to hold the pin. The Joplin golfer didn't know it was a rule. The other team's coach came over and said it was indeed a penalty.
The Joplin golfer gave himself the penalty and signed the card.
Come to find out, that rule was eliminated two years ago so there should not have been a penalty assessed but because the kid signed his card, regardless of getting the wrong information from another team's coach.

The Joplin golfers score as of now is a 78 instead of a 76.
The kicker—Joplin would have beat the team who's coach said it was a penalty by one stroke. Instead, Joplin takes second by a stroke.

IMO, I don't give a damn if the card was signed. A 15-year-old kid was given incorrect information by someone he thought was an authority. The kid earned a 76, give him a 76.
