Friendship over with Giles Corey's self titled, now Xasthur's Subject to Change is on repeat https://twitter.com/Non7Serviam/status/1391757199454707722
Xasthur's acoustic albums really are something man
I remember when I first got into Xasthur, I had only listened to the black metal stuff, completely unaware that the guy changed his style, I worshipped his music. It was super loud, angsty and ugly in a beautiful way. Xasthur slowly started becoming my favorite artist.
Then I listened to his newer albums, they were soft and calm, no screamo vocals and stuff. I was really disappointed and hated the guy because I thought he sold out. I retained my opinions on Xasthur for a while until I gave his new music another chance and man I was blown away
I've never been a lyrics guy, I never pay attention to the lyrics cause I just couldn't be arsed to care, to me lyrics are just there to fill the void, but man Xasthur's lyrics are so unbelievably good that it made me reconsider my opinions on lyrics
I still despise lyrics tho lmao but Xasthur has some really really nice stuff. Anyways now that I'm thinking of it, his music never really changed, it's still the same, it's still ugly and dissonant, just not in a loud black metal sorta way
To whomever read through this thread to the end, thank you for listening to my music ramblings and please go listen to Telepathic with the Deceased to understand why I love Xasthur so much
