hi. so i know i'm supposed to be ia right now but palestine is suffering a humanitarian crisis at the hands of the israeli government. no media outlet is covering the horrors of what's happening, so it's in our hands to raise awareness. (thread)

first of all, it is not a "clash" nor a "conflict". palestinians are being OPPRESSED by israeli settlers. it's ethnic cleansing, it's apartheid, it's a violation and destruction of human rights.

sheikh jarrah - sheikh jarrah is a palestinian neighborhood in east jerusalem occupied by israel. palestinian families are being forcibly removed from their homes, so that israeli settlers can move in. on top of this, the palestinians families evicted are court-ordered to pay -

$20,000 to cover the legal expenses of the settlers who are stealing their homes.

al-aqsa - masjid al-aqsa is the third holiest site in islam, and right now, in ramadan, aka the holiest month in ramadan, al-aqsa is being attacked by israeli soldiers. men, women, and children, who are simply praying and worshipping, are being attacked with tear gas, -

stun grenades, and rubber bullets (which are still bullets btw!!). in the midst of these attacks, the soldiers barricaded the doors so the palestinians couldn't leave.

gaza - just a few hours ago, an israeli airstrike killed 20 palestinians, 9 of whom were children (some sources say 21 were killed and 15 were children)

protestors, who are peacefully protesting in sheikh jarrah and the rest of the country, and being arrested. israeli settlers are running over palestinians. medics and ambulances are prevented from treating the injured, and medics are also being targeted.

ramadan is the holiest month of the year for muslims. these last few nights are the most sacred of nights. this month is the month of peace. and israel robbing the palestinians of this peace, disturbing their worship, attacking them WHILE they're praying is cruel and inhumane.

but this is not just a muslim issue. israel isn't attacking just palestinian muslims; they're oppressing all palestinians, including palestinian christians and jews. this is a humanitarian crisis, and as humans we're responsible for doing whatever we can to aid palestine.

so please, please inform and educate yourselves. educate your families, friends share information on social media (ig + fb is removing posts, so repost if necessary! and fact check the info before posting!). donate. sign petitions. and boycott israeli products & compaines.
