I feel like there are a lot of people who don't know what body dysmorphia means, and are using it as a general term for 'disliking your body'.

Google is right there.
Seeing so many girls on TikTok ass naked on there showing their full bodies talmbout "I have body dysmorphia guys xx"

Someone with body dysmorphia would probably never even upload a photo of themselves from the neck down. Words! Mean! Things!
Seeing as it's mental health awareness week, I think it's important to say that we need to stop trivialising mental health disorders when we 'really' mean another emotion.

Being tidy doesn't mean you have OCD. However tidiness can be a symptom of OCD.
This is by no means gatekeeping, as everyone should always be encouraged to be open about how they feel!

But when you use a mental illness to make something sound worse than it is....it can do more harm than good.
Also want to send all my love to @Tess_Holliday this week for speaking out about living with anorexia. An incredibly brave thing to do, especially when the fatphobics have been out in full force.
Couldn't believe the sheet amount of ignorance and hatred in some of the comments I've seen. Again, a quick google could have saved you, but some are just determined to be arseholes.

Yes, fat people can have anorexia. And Bulimia. And a whole host of other eating disorders.
Anorexia Nervosa is a mental health condition, with its most common symptoms being drastic weight loss, food avoidance, or over-exercising.

The list of symptoms is exhaustive, but the ones above are usually be the tell-tale signs, especially in someone who is smaller.
The mental health aspect of anorexia can manifest in bodies that aren't necessarily slim. It doesn't nullify that person's pain or experiences because they aren't super slim.

To see such horrible comments this week has been gross af.
Eating disorders are not confined to a certain body type. They are not confined to a certain race either.

There needs to be more discussions surrounding ED that occur in people who aren't white and slim. They also need to be included in this very important conversation.
Ok I didn't mean for this to be a thread lmao but the mind vomit, you see.

I'm just here for having conversations about EDs in bigger people too, because when we have eating disorders, it's often encouraged by those around us.
(TW: ED)

I'll never forget the time in my early 20s (back when I was at my *lowest*) when I was taking suppressants an AUNT had given me that I'm pretty sure contained some kind of amphetamine.

She encouraged me to keep taking them 'for the greater good'.
This is why the whole 'health' thing is a SHAM.

When you're fat and have an ED, no one cares about your health. They don't care about the harm to your internal organs or your mental health. They care about the ~ end result ~ and actively encourage you to continue.

Wild.
My spelling and grammar in this thread has been atrocious ffs.
