One week in, some observations about the 20,000 #Meebits and marketplace overall

First, everything is still a crap shoot. There& #39;s still a *ton* of value to figure out.
There are two tiers of rarities: body rarity and attribute rarity.
There are two tiers of rarities: body rarity and attribute rarity.
By far the most common body type is Human. Then there are pigs, elephants, robots, visitors, a double pig, and dissecteds
Then there are attribute and/or clothing rarities: Tattoos, hoodies, 3d glasses, shoes, hair styles, etc.

This is a good thread on some of the rarer clothing options available in Meebit population: https://twitter.com/iamsted1/status/1391062037116108801">https://twitter.com/iamsted1/...
The floor for common human Meebits is below the 2.5 ETH where the Dutch auction happened.
It& #39;s around the high 1& #39;s or low 2& #39;s.
Many people are reluctant to accept that fact.

Most people are asking far too much for their Meebits right now but a fair price is whatever someone is willing to pay, so the high prices are just one Punk& #39;s opinion.
Next, there are two ways to trade:
- Based on rarity
- Based on aesthetics
You can, of course, combine these for a certain tier of Meebit.

There are a *lot* of common Meebits though.
I think the best way to approach these right now is to not spend too much on them, regardless of asks on Discord or OpenSea.
Everyone probably wants one that looks like them. Then they want something they can flash or flex with.

The population of Meebits, the sheer amount of diversity in the set means that, over time, they will sell much more like real estate.
"This suit just sold for 3.3, no way I& #39;m paying 10 for yours. Plus it has a lower rarity score."
Things like that.

Pigs will be their own "neighborhood" of trade, so will Hoodies, and different Snoutz and LL attributes. Mini-markets within the market itself.
You see this already within Punks. This isn& #39;t anything groundbreaking. Just a mental model to think about how to comp Meebits.

Despite being less rare numerically than other traits, Hoodies command a premium because people like them and tend to hang onto them.
With tools like http://rarity.tools"> http://rarity.tools , consider that your trading partner has perfect information, like Chess.
You both know each others& #39; rarities. You can both look up price floors for 3D glasses or LL Moonboots on OpenSea.

In the near future, you won& #39;t be able to pull one over on an average Meebit trader.
Take my wallet: I have pretty common Meebits. Some are cool looking like #555, #3075, #2574, and #16918. However, my rarest, according to http://rarity.tools"> http://rarity.tools is the rather boring (imo) #19693
That guy is in the top 6000.
Almost the top quartile of the 20K Meebits.
What& #39;s that worth? I& #39;m not sure yet.
I think that& #39;s where aesthetics come into play.
Sure he& #39;s sort of rare but how much do you like him? How much do you *want* him?

Each Meebit is unique but what are the bottom 10,000 or 5,000 Meebits worth?
How much of a discount do you get moving down rarity quartiles?
We don& #39;t have enough information or market data to know yet.

Then there& #39;s trading for aesthetics:
These are the "Just gotta have it" kind of trades: trades where your behavior may not be justified by comps because you need that Snoutz hoodie or you want one whose hair matches yours perfectly.
So you pony up.

Going back to the bottom 5,000-10,000, I think this subset of the Meebits population will be a lot cheaper and a lot more fluid.
One week in, there& #39;s a lot we still have to figure out about how the Meebits market works but it& #39;s certainly off to a fun start!
