Incorporating this idea into my daily life for the past decade has been one of the highest ROI mental shifts I've made, but it only worked because I was simultaneously learning to accept/love myself.
When I had trouble incorporating this kind of open-minded humility, I found it was my ego getting in the way.

When you hate yourself on some level, it's hard to appreciate the good in others - particularly when you can see they're not perfect either.
