After rewatching the episode. I have some thoughts. It& #39;s been a while since I had one https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😂" title="Gesicht mit Freudentränen" aria-label="Emoji: Gesicht mit Freudentränen">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😅" title="Lächelndes Gesicht mit offenem Mund und Angstschweiß" aria-label="Emoji: Lächelndes Gesicht mit offenem Mund und Angstschweiß"> Bear with me #GoodGirls https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="⤵️" title="Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Nach rechts zeigender Pfeil mit Krümmung nach unten">
"Sometimes the simplest way is the right way". I think Beth inadvertently followed Occam& #39;s Razor between the two choices. What& #39;s clear to Beth is what she & her family will get if she chooses SS, and it has never been clear to her what she& #39;ll get if chooses Rio. #GoodGirls
In this ep, the only info we know is that there& #39;s a threat to her family if she didn& #39;t choose him. I& #39;m sure Rio knows it won& #39;t help his case when it comes to her. So maybe he intentionally said it to push her to the "long game" direction he said at the start of the episode.
The Nick&Rio flashbacks are definitely a parallel of the Rio&Beth situation. Nick calls him champ, Rio calls her champ, Nick tells him to put his head in the game, Rio tells her the same thing. Nick definitely took away Rio& #39;s other options in life to use him for his own benefit.
Making Rio more indebted to him with no way out, and the list is still piling. Is Rio doing the same thing to Beth? Maybe. Does he have a plan other than what we just saw? I don& #39;t know. #GoodGirls
But it feels to me like even if he probably wanted Beth to play the long game, he also just wanted someone to finally choose him, to back him up. And we have seen Beth being torn with her thoughts of not wanting to to disappoint him vs the pressure from SS to deliver. #GoodGirls
However, her attraction to life of crime and to him ain& #39;t enough, and with Rio not being explicit on what& #39;s in it for her family is not a sound choice when she stands to lose everything. So between her two choices then, which does look simpler? #GoodGirls
