There's been a lot of talk about inflation lately, and it has an agenda.

The goal is to undermine Biden's infrastructure plan and future stimulus.

While some prices have risen, most of this is likely to be temporary pressure that subsides by the end of this year or early next.
It's important to talk about the inflation situation openly and honestly, because what we hear on corporate media, and from the financial world is focused on the very short term. The reality is COVID knocked a lot of production offline, and that's the primary driver of inflation.
When supply constraints become a significant impediment, prices rise if demand stays the same or rises.

But supply constraints from the COVID lockdowns are being worked through, and aren't likely to be a longstanding problem.

Our infrastructure, however, is deeply broken.
We're already seeing pseudo-Democrats like Joe Manchin push back against Biden's infrastructure plan and stimulus, saying he wants consensus with the GOP.

The GOP have said they want a much smaller plan. One that won't even be a drop in the bucket vs. what our country needs.
Meanwhile, we hear from many economists and the Fed that the inflationary pressures should be "transient" and abate on their own.

While I'm always skeptical of what the Fed says, in this case I think they're actually right because the global economy is still pretty weak overall.
So I think it's important to start pushing back on the inflation apocalypse narrative that is being pushed by the corporate media and politicians.

We really do need to Build Back Better, and that starts with rebuilding the infrastructure of America so we can compete with China.
Looking at where we will be as a country in 10 years is much more important than 10 months.

We need to focus on the big picture. America has been slipping for decades.

We have crumbling bridges and roads, outdated power generation and transmission, antiquated rail and airports.
We're also facing down an unprecedented climate catastrophe and sixth mass extinction which demands that our country focuses on renewable, sustainable sources of energy, food, and materials.

This requires massive investment, and it has to be a national effort.
I ask all who are concerned about America's future to push back against this narrative. There's an agenda behind it and it is one that is focused on undermining our progress as a country so that we continue to favor short term thinking and gains over long term planning and effort
