If you live your life relying on empirical evidence to believe in something it feels like only eating one kind of food because you KNOW you like it and actively bashing every other type of food because there’s no proof, to you, that it tastes good.
No ones sitting here telling you to believe in shit, but you can’t be a vehement anti theist without understanding the role religion and folk magic and spirituality plays throughout history.
Read the historical accounts of folk beliefs, superstitions, Indigenous spirituality, folk medicine, etc, and come back and have the same argument with me. Read some Gloria Anzaldua and Laura E Perez and come back and we’ll have the discussion.
Discounting everything you can’t see also doesn’t make sense, because well. Atoms. Most of our reality’s laws rely on theories. They don’t necessarily have empirical evidence.
