Self-induced feelings and validity, a thread.

For context, we& #39;re an endogenic system with nonhumans and an ex-kin host. -Miriam (start, 1/10)
Just because something is "self-induced" does NOT mean it& #39;s a delusion, or that it& #39;s invalid. It literally just means that it& #39;s something your mind created, consciously or subconsciously. 2/10
This goes for wings, quirk-typing, even headmates! Our headmates ARE created by the host& #39;s mind--sometimes consciously, sometimes not. That doesn& #39;t mean we& #39;re any less valid. 3/10
This goes for more mundane things too. You can self-induce itching, you can self-induce yawning, you can even self-induce a lack of pain, in some cases. (Focus on something besides your stubbed toe for a while and it& #39;ll stop hurting.) 4/10
If doing something makes you feel comfortable, do it (as long as it& #39;s not causing others harm or creating inaccessibility for others). But realize what you& #39;re doing and why. 5/10
Duran (our host) has back problems now, and it& #39;s entirely possible they were cause by their "wing pain" back in 2012--it was really just back pain from carrying heavy loads and improper posture. 6/10
If they& #39;d talked to someone about it rather than just assuming "oh wing pain, that& #39;s a normal thing for kin to experience", it might be less of an issue now.

A person& #39;s weight and bust size can *also* lead to physical back pain that could be interpreted as "wing pain". 7/10
We also have headmates who make an effort to talk differently from the rest of us. It& #39;s a conscious effort, it makes them feel comfortable, & *that& #39;s okay.* It& #39;s self-induced & doesn& #39;t come naturally to us as a system. But it hurts no one & is still accessible, so who cares? 8/10
TLDR, it& #39;s OKAY to admit to yourself that the things that make you feel valid are self-induced, whether it& #39;s astral limbs, typing quirks, accents, or even headmates themselves! Self-induced doesn& #39;t mean invalid. 9/10
Make sure what you do is accessible and that it& #39;s not hurting anyone (INCLUDING YOU!), and you& #39;re fine! If you experience physical pain, SEE A DOCTOR.

And finally? Stop calling everyone who disagrees with you a sysmed. Seriously, cut that shit out. (end, 10/10)
