happy one year to the iconic bridge that talks about toxicity and manipulation in relationships. the creeping distorted tune sounds like the leaking true nature of an imbalanced relationship where a person's obsession of their partner is out of the border.
day6 have HUGE galaxy brains for the key change and the transition to wonpil’s bridge. the creeping sinister sound perfectly portrays the imbalance of a relationship when that person is more devoted and obsessive nature to the point that it'd make their partner uncomfortable.
toxic people can look surprisingly sweet like the tune but as you pay attention to the lyrics itself, they are inherently toxic and creepy. a toxic person gaslighting their partner in a relationship and manipulating them through their love in order to get them to stay.
"nobody loves you more than me baby" is a way to control a person on how they think of that abusive person. they professed they love but the way it was said was actually comparison to others to make their partner believe it's a declaration of love when it's really a whole threat.
other than "just a love song" the song embodies a feeling of being so insecure on a toxic person that they would do anything for their partner to drag them down with them. they will comply to every wish the other person has and putting a mask in fear that it might not be enough.
as what i said earlier, 1 to 10 isn’t a sweet declaration of love. it's a melody about an affection that feels entitled to have everything about the other person on the basis of “love”. it’s presumptuous and possessive
as what day6 said, tbou series are about human interaction, the demon was very twisted but masterfully executed to show how a human could be broken, tired, and be the demon itself. the album is about imbalance between two people in a relationship (not necessarily a romantic one).
