May is Motorcycle Safety Month. During the Second World War motorcycles were a common sight on the battlefield as they served a variety of roles. Easily maneuverable and very dangerous, they were used by dispatch riders and reconnaissance teams. 1/2
They greatly helped infantry units by providing additional mobility.
