This week marks @DyingMatters awareness week. It& #39;s really important to us that our donors make informed choices. Be #InAGoodPlace & have the appropriate paperwork readily available & please discuss with your family. We& #39;re always happy to answer questions about the process!
Your consent is only valid with a form from the institution you want to donate to, or with a statement in your Will that sounds something like "I would like to donate my body for medical education and training." Forms must also be witnessed.
Let the people closest to you know about this decision so that when the time comes, we can access your records quickly. There is a strict time limit with body donation, so having the right people aware, means it runs alot more smoothly, which is nicer for everyone involved.
We rely on family & friends to let us know of a death, so please have those conversations. We shouldn& #39;t shy away from discussing death. More discussions lead to a better death overall.
If you have questions about Body Donation, please don& #39;t hesitate to get in contact with your local institution. We want you to be comfortable with what you& #39;re signing up for & we are grateful to each & every person who shows an interest in donating themselves @DyingMatters
