Part of what the church is suffering from is the taming of Love.

Love has come to mean white niceness in most church structures.

Not the revolutionary force that moves through the world with the Spirit burning down cane fields and breaking chains.

We are diminished by this.

Long term this means we will continue not to be a part of any future uprisings in a real way.

Love is on the streets. Love is on the move. Love never fails to tell the truth even to the Creator.

The church is nowhere near the streets. Is stuck. And can’t tell the truth.

Short term this means the acceleration of the implosion, death, schism, and rebirth of what has been called the church in America.

And the final death of institutional church in our lifetime. Thanks be to God.
