As the parent of a second grader, I now really understand my parents' droopy faces when I announced I had a trifold poster board project.

Having said that, I always laugh when I hear people complaining about schools, because let me tell you the elementary school I went to... was not as rigorous as this public school.

I must have done 14 minutes of work in any given year.
My friends and I recreated the battle of midway during class by making aircraft carriers and planes out of paper. It literally took months.
Recess was footskitball, which was tackle basketball.
Also hilarious: the scene at the local Michael's the day after the trifold project is announced. It's like the day coronavirus really bit down and toilet paper, except trifolds.
