Normalize justice in the eyes of a child, and you can change the world. https://twitter.com/gbh/status/1391383047145152513
Here are some alternate images from those days.
We really can’t appreciate the social impact of Fred Rogers gospel ministry until we see the other images that were “normal” for children at the time.
There is something significant about caste systems & water. Supremacist thinking believes sharing water with “inferiors” contaminates them. This is an ancient superstition.

Consider how Christian baptism is designed precisely to resist this. We are all one, baptized into Christ.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper were given as visible representations that normalize justice in an unjust world.Diverse people dining together & sharing water space together “denormalizes” social caste arrangements.

Whether we preach a social gospel, the sacraments do every week.
The next time you see that iconic scene from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood displayed, remember that same scene of justice and hope is displayed before God’s children every single week. 🙌🏾
