You know what I’m angry about, on a completely different note? That I cannot advocate for my country even in my own professional spaces for fear of not getting my PhD. I have to sit down and gently push non-Palestinians, non-Muslims, because I am so early in my career.

It’s a hard balance because I am tired of offering labor but I also don’t want to be saved. I can stand up for myself and my homelands and I’ve been glad to do it, with my soul and with my body since I was a young child. Sometimes I am tired. But I also want the recognition
