Catchy title eh
People talk about if it's even possible in an "Eros" kind of situation, but that's not what we're talking about.
We're talking about the Christ kind of Love.

I once talked about sharing your personal testimony on Teaching them... if you haven't checked that out, do so. It'll give you some context.
Scripture tells us that “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Scripture tells us that “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
What that means is that, God loved us before even first sight if that makes any sense.
Doubting it?
“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” (Psalms 51:5)
So the fact that God already loved us is a given.
From the very beginning.

He loved us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
He so, so loved us.
So where am I going with this?

So where am I going with this?
If you recall, in Teaching them... (if you haven't read it, make sure you do.) we talked about how, when and where you got saved.
What where you doing, where were you, how did it happen?
That kind of thing.
What where you doing, where were you, how did it happen?
That kind of thing.
But more than that, did you get saved the first time you heard about Jesus?
Did you fall in love with His Love at first sight?
Did the knowledge that He died for your sins break you the very first day?
Or did you play church for a long time afterwards?
Did you fall in love with His Love at first sight?
Did the knowledge that He died for your sins break you the very first day?
Or did you play church for a long time afterwards?
These are questions worth answering.
I once found myself in a congregation and the preacher asked, how many of you gave your life to Christ the first time someone preached to you? show by a raise of hands.

We were at least above 30 (I didn't count) in the room, but not a single person raised their hand.
This hit me like a stone.
I was in the room too, but my hand wasn't raised.
It's crazy...

Oftentimes, we are out here silently and loudly judging people who are still bound in sin.
We say, I have preached, I have prayed, they must repent.
If they don't, they are "on their own".
Ha!
May God have mercy on us.

We have written off so many, many people because they don't fit the standards we set;
Their skirts are too short, trousers (pants) are too tight, dress too open, nails too long, way too aggressive, have "probably" (not even sure/even if you're sure) slept with numerous people, have the wrong hairstyle, haircut or hair color, God forbid it they have tattoos, or…
…simply not polite enough.
I'm not saying that the church should begin to accept sin, but the church is like a hospital.
People who come there are people who need Jesus.
If the majority of us did not fall in love with Christ the first time around, why do we expect others to?

Why do we shun them when they don't?
Why do we make them feel unworthy of being in church?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying make sinners leaders in the church.

I'm saying “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14)
There has been a lot of argument about this (will talk about it soon, by God's grace), but Christians must not let these many people get dragged to hell.
We've talked for a while now, but the church is where people get hope. They find out that they don't have to live in bondage to sin and satan. They get delivered and they are set free.
“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” (2 Corinthians 5:11)
Shalom.
Shalom.
