In the 1st half, he had to play lower, essentially forming a back 3 (usually as a ballfar CB)
Villarreal B would press in a front 2 and Barca B got a 3v2 advantage against 1st line of press.
Opp CFs would press and the free #8 would occupy the pivot space

This 3v2 advantage was efficient against a vertically compact block of Villareal B.
If the 2 CFs would compress the space on the ball carrier-> ball would circulate between the CBs and the new ball carrier could step out with the ball. He would have multiple progressive lanes

At times when he would step out of his line due to the freedom assigned to him he could add himself as a passing lane (higher positioning=better & #39;๐ฏ๐ฆ๐น๐ต& #39; pass) and hence helping the ball carrier ( #8) when he would be pressured.
In the 2nd Half, Pimienta made 3 changes including Rier (CB) subbing Martinez.
This meant Jandro now could play as the pivot and the 3 CBs was naturally created. Jandro now had the ๐ง๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฎ to position himself.

His positioning would attract opposite player(s) and would intend a jump from them. This forced them to overcommit thereby expanding space for the 2 interiors and/or the forwards.
Look how he ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ต๐ด ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ฑ๐ข๐ค๐ฆ which was created by Alex Collado& #39;s decoy movements allowing Konrad to hit the space in behind.
Like I said before his ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐บ ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ and positioning at times forces you to overcommit and consequently expanding space for forwards in-behind. The forwards utilize this space by making penetrative passes with easier passing angles.
