Want some anxiety tips? Instead of imagining terrible things happening, strategize how to handle the worst case scenario. Be ready for anything instead of terrified, make backup plans. Then you can also start picturing what you'll do if it all goes well. Be prepared not scared.
Also look back at the things that didn't turn out how you expected in the past to put your current troubles in perspective. You probably won't even remember worrying about this in a year's time. You've handled change in the past, you've already proven you can handle a challenge.
Maybe you won't get the job, you'll embarrass yourself, your crush won't like you back, or bad things will happen. We can't choose everything about life, all we can do is make the best of it. People have lost everything and still recovered. So relax, nothing is under control.
Life is always going to have low points. Worrying doesn't prevent it, it just means you've suffered twice! Once when you worry and again IF bad things happen. worry is a misuse of the imagination. You don't owe the world perfection, you're allowed a few mistakes. you'll be ok.
Some are saying "if this doesn't work for everyone, you are not allowed to talk about this." I was depressed and had severe anxiety for 13 years. I was agoraphobic. I've been happy and healthy for 4 years. This is partly how I got better and I'll never stop sharing this.
We wouldn't call it irresponsible to provide therapy, CBT or medication, just because it doesn't work for everyone. So let me share things that worked for me. The trick is to try something else instead of taking it personally if this isn't relevant to you.
