Voters don’t talk like this. It makes a political party sound like a cult. Lots of staunchly left wing people make variations of this statement without any sense of how bizarre they sound
Which is a particular problem when your party is struggling to get a hearing with voters. Trying to avoid sounding like a quasi religious zealot the average voter would cross the road to avoid should probably be a priority.
I know Rayner thinks she’s only talking to the party but isn’t that pretty much the crux of Labour’s problems? Stop talking to each other all the god damn time. Talk *only* to voters in public. That’s why you exist. You don’t exist to give “the labour movement” warm & fuzzies.
And if that’s all she has on the future of work the Tories have nothing to worry about. Much of the ground she covers is govt policy.
