Depression and anxiety are a lonely experience.
You want to talk, but you don’t know how to; how to explain to the people you love and care about that no matter how much they want you to get better, that right in this very moment you don’t know how to,
because you don’t understand it yourself; how to explain that you want to run away & hide in a deep , dark cave until the exhaustion & unsettled feeling goes away; how to explain that at the same time you can’t bare for them to leave your side because they’re your safety net.
You want to talk, but you don’t want to feel like a failure. You should have your shit together, you have a good life really, good people around you, for all intents and purposes you should be smiling.
And you are, but it’s a smile to hide behind; to keep the world from seeing how you feel, a smile to make sure you don’t burden the people you love.
Depression and anxiety are a lonely experience, but they don’t have to be.
You are not a failure, you are not required to be ok just because you seem like you have your shit together, you are perfectly normal and it is ok, REALLY OK, not to be ok.
Don’t sit in silence, do ask for a hug, do take up that offer of a chat do use your voice and be heard.
And please do remember you are not alone and this is not the end of your story, it is just another chapter and it will become a new one ❀
