Fact is, & #39;divide and conquer& #39; works. When life is hard, it is tough to see systemic injustice or take responsibility for personal mistakes. Far easier to point the finger at others ... and the right THRIVES on this. That is the root here
When I was a teen single mum, I lost count of the number of poor people who told me I was a & #39;drain on society& #39; and & #39;taking their taxes& #39; ... even when they earned waaaay below threshold. 1 woman had such a vendetta I had to move out the flatblock
She reported me to the benefits office for working (I was on unpaid work experience), she reported me to the RSPCA for mistreating my cat THREE times, plus she called and left abusive voicemails. All cuz she thought I was taking what was "hers"
