The revival of Andre Silva and Lucas Paqueta careers ever since leaving Milan
{ A thread }
Ever since leaving the Milan giants these two players have completely turned around their careers stats and life in general .
Donā€™t get me wrong both players did had the raw ability at Milan but they couldnā€™t meet up with the standards of playing a club like Ac Milan
Or they werenā€™t mentally prepared which can be a huge factor if you succeed at a club like Milan or can be the biggest reason you can be underwhelming and be labeled as a flop .
In this brief thread Iā€™m gonna compare their best Milan stats to their best stats of as right now and how theyā€™ve adapted to their current system in order to put up good numbers like theyā€™re doing right now.
Letā€™s start with Andre Silva stats at Milan
(All seasons combined btw )
1000 minutes played
2 goals
1 assist
0.19 goals p90
Underperformed his total xG in Serie a of 4.5 by -2.5
Forgot to mention that Silva was sent on loan to Sevilla 18/19 and Frankfurt last year .
Horrid
At Sevilla he was mediocre as well
9 goals
0 assists
2,159 minutes played
0.38 goals p90
Underperformed his xG of 9.6 by (0.6) which isnā€™t much of a big deal In all honesty
Being honest I thought it was the last chance at a decent club
His short loan at Frankfurt last year
12 goals
3 assists
0.69 goals p90
Exceded his xG of 10.5 by (1.5+)
His best season since 16/17 at Porto
That short loan last year he outdid his Milan and Sevilla combined league goals of 11 which sounds crazy ā˜ ļø
This season for Frankfurt which is the best of his Career
25 goals
7 assists
2,580 minutes played
0.87 goals p90
Outdoing his xG of 21.4 by (3.6+) which is outright incredible
Heā€™s the second highest goal scorer in Bundesliga right behind Lewa incredible stuff Andre
Why has he been performing so well for Frankfurt?
Simply because heā€™s been given time less pressure from media and fans , he suited Adi HĆ¼tter system basically the missing piece and the first proper Jovic replacement .
Andre Silva is an excellent poacher but he can handle other situations. Very good in the air and Is a hard worker enough on Silva itā€™s time to talk about Lucas Paqeuta revival of his career at Lyon.
Letā€™s start with Paqeuta stats at Milan
1 goal
2 assists
Underperformed his 3.3xG by (-2.1)
0.05 goals p90
1.9 xA ( underperformed only by (-0.9)
1,945 minutes played .
He was outright terrible at Milan
What was his issues at Milan ? He said that he couldnā€™t handle when someone was talking about him negatively . Sometimes he put unnecessary pressure on himself . It was a more mental reason than a physical reason for his failure at Milan
His stats at Lyon
7 goals
4 assists
0.30 goals p90
Underperforming his xG of 9.3 by (-2.3)
Underperforming his xA of 5.7 by (-1.7) due to his teammates not being clinical
3.48 SCAp90
2.06 Tackles wonp90
0.82 interceptions p90
What a season for Lucas
Heā€™s been playing as an advanced number 8 rather than a ten and heā€™s been absolutely superb for Lyon ( imo) heā€™s performing better than what everyone expected. Playing in his preferred position + being surrounded full of Brazilians is a factor why heā€™s balling in France
He definitely suits ligue un better than serie a i personally believe that heā€™s gonna keep this up and get another big money move to an elite club in the future. He has also matured more since joining Lyon he was rather immature at Milan .
Both players are playing in their forms of their lives. Milan will be just a bitter memory in their respective careers . Both Lucas and Andre seemed like they moved on just like Milan which Iā€™m happy for all parties.
