Hey guys. After thinking for awhile and considering a lot of things, I wanted to bring light to and address something I did. [Thread]
I do not have an exact year, but I have a timeline from when it could have happened. 2014 to 2016 is my estimate, so I either could have been 11 or 13. I suspect I was 12. However, my age does not matter [to me] as it still occured and I should and could have known better.
What happened was that I made a caricature of a Jamaican person out of Shaggy Rogers from Scooby Doo. I do not remember why but I believe it's because an older [now former] friend [who was white] had an OC that at the time I thought was funny and wanted to make a "reference" for-
-him. His name was "jaggy" ["jamaican shaggy", i said] and the caricature[?] was an edit of Shaggy, which made him have:
Dreadlocks, darker skin, "high" red eyes, a blunt, and mismatched color clothing. I dont believe the outfit had anything to do with race, I just thought making an ugly outfit would be funny.
I don't recall anymore changes but there could have been. I did another similar edit as "fanart" from what I remember but that is lost too and it was essentially the same thing but on a different Shaggy base.
I posted the pictures on my old, now defunct, deviantart profile St0ne-Draws.
I do not want to hide this; I don't believe it is the proper way to handle what occurred. And what occurred was horrible. I should have known better, and I am so sorry that I did not. I'm sorry it took this long for me to talk about it; I should have brought up and apologized-
-for it much earlier.
I also want to apologize if my use of caricature was wrong, and if it is I'll make the corrections. [end of thread]
