Just remembered "Car Talk" and realized my kids will never believe me when I try to explain that there was once a wildly popular National Public Radio show featuring two brothers answering car-repair questions and laughing at their own jokes for a solid hour every week
Truly, no disrespect to Tom and Ray, whose show was a fixture of my childhood (I grew up in a house where NPR was on ALL DAY).
I'm just saying the underlying concept of the show and its immense popularity might not compute for my kids.

The guys were the commencement speakers at MIT in 1999! Yes, I know they were alums! Even so! They were enough of a cultural Thing to be commencement speakers at MIT!
Just checked and in 1997, the speaker was Kofi Annan.
In 1998: Bill Clinton
In 1999: the Car Talk guys
