it’s so wild to me that people (zionists) rush to invoke/tokenize the most marginalized and criminalized members of the non-Palestinian israeli population as their sort of racial “gotchas” in response to (correct) accusations of Israeli colonialism
eg “they can be colonizers bc they’re yemeni/ethiopian/eritrean/etc” — as though these communities aren’t subjects of fantastically repressive regimes under even Israeli’s non-Palestinian racial hierarchy! truly outrageous. hey siri, what is the opposite of solidarity?
also tho I think it is on some level inaccurate to call migrants “colonizers,” in this rhetorical scenario the speaker is always (wrongly) invoking the individual subject to stand in for the state — eg claiming that Israel is “51% nonwhite” so it can’t be racist. that kinda thing
israel deports, forcibly sterilizes, kidnaps, plunders, and otherwise criminalizes and violates its migrant and Afro-Arab populace, jewish or not; to invoke these communities in defence of israeli state violence against the indigenous people is not only inaccurate, it’s depraved.
