This game was too fun not to do some same-night rehashing.

How about a D-Rose dedicated Ritz Bitz session for your Sunday night/Monday morn leisure.

Rose has a floater PACKAGE. Let me explain in 6 parts:

1/6) Starts us off w a crazy TOUGH floater across his body fading left.
His next bucket comes off a beautifully tight spin rejecting the screen into a picturesque, standard left-foot floater.

That’s the baseline off of which everything to come works. He has been incredibly consistent with that shot against drop coverage, which Cousins plays here.
3/6) This time uses his explosive crossover to reject the screen and get into the paint. Cousins isn’t going to let him walk into that standard floater again, and takes away the space.

So, Rose counters with a RIGHT-footed floater, off-footing Cousins with the early release.
4/6) He’s shown the drifting floater, the left-foot and the right foot floater - and he’s made em all.

This time, uses the screen to get middle of paint against the drop, and shows off his jump-stop floater off of 2 feet from DEEP floater range. Incredible touch and variety.
5/6) Now, if the help sells out too hard on the deadeye floater, like Morris does here trying to invade that space, D-Rose still has PLENTY of burst in the tank to get all the way to the hole when necessary and finish with either hand. OAKAAK Marcus learned the hard way, & 1.
6/6) Finally, when a long defender like Batum is on his hip taking the floater away, D-Rose has the underrated pure strength to initiate contact and finish over the top. He does this less often now, maybe for conservation, but you can see how the hit knocks Batum back.
This thread didn’t include the stepback jumpers and 3s he also hit today, but I wanted to emphasize here how “floater” is a category of shots, not a single shot.

Rose is a genius at finding different ways of getting it off, and has been insanely accurate with all variations.
