Everyone is using this tragic case to get some name recognition. That's why there were 15 lawyers working for the prosecution pro bono, plus former Solicitor General Neal Katyal who normally only does complicated antitrust cases. Now the Feds are joining the feeding frenzy https://twitter.com/OmarJimenez/status/1390668773770862596
Imagine all of the pre trial nonsense, the refusing change of venue, no sequestration of jurors, historic settlement announced during jury selection, the lawyer situation above, the intimidation of the jury through the pigs head and blood, political actors putting their 2 cents
In, INCLUDING THE US PRESIDENT. The mask Chauvin had to wear that dehumanized him. And the newest revelation of an African American juror running a podcast opining on Chauvin's guilt, attending BLM protests and being photographed in a shirt, clearly showing he wasn't impartial.
Now take those same circumstances and apply them to a case where a white woman was accusing a black man of rape in 1950's Alabama. Would we not treat our children today how despicable that is, and rightfully so. The black man would not have received anything close to a fair trail
Even if Chauvin somehow was guilty of all of those charges his rights were egregiously violated. This whole charade was or should have been embarrassing for the U.S. to say the least.
Yet many seem to not understand the necessity of a fair trail. It's easy to say we will never commit a crime but we may be accused of one. Is this the kind of justice you'd want for your family friends or self? We all need to think deeply about these issues.
