Outside of the typical faces, who comes to mind when you think of the intellectual scene?

Although I haven't had the chance to explore them in detail, I'm starting to see more value in secret societies especially for Black individuals with a certain socioeconomic position.
I'm not in the position to say if sororities or fraternities exemplify this idea really well because I'm not a sorority member.

When you are a Black alum of universities especially prestigious ones, you become marked. Additionally, if you work for esteemed organizations it is
likely for a Black person to provoke curiosity or suspicion among White people, who believe you need to make yourself available to them both professionally & personally.

Anyways, this thread is for the Black professionals who need spaces to be both intellectuals and free.
