Since I& #39;ve been playing it for the past few days, I thought I& #39;d share my thoughts about #ResidentEvilVillage https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> Overall, I think the game is wonderful but definitely too long. A thread: (obviously with some vague spoilers)
Introductory story segment was super intriguing. Mia sure had a glow up! Beginning village section was super terrifying and fun and stressful with the lack of firepower. Duke is wonderful and I love him. The castle segment was both scary and interesting, I liked that the method
Of destroying the vampires was unexpected. Lady D& #39;s true form was
Second section with the dollmaker was absolutely terrifying. I am waaay more scared when my video game protagonist doesn& #39;t have a gun in hand, also there was imagery used that is one of my worst phobias, some genuine screams came out of this section!
Moreau is next, this area is a bit meh to me but I liked learning more about the actual biohazard-y stuff. I liked that Moreau had no real confidence, not something you usually see in a horror character. I& #39;m now in Heisenberg& #39;s factory and can safely say this game is too long
Part of the difficulty of horror in media is longevity because people become less afraid of things over time. I really liked seven because of this: it was short, had a lot of variety in the scares, but never overstayed it& #39;s welcome. the biggest problem with village is that it& #39;s
Just too long, I& #39;ve adjusted to the old enemies so they don& #39;t really scare me anymore, and I& #39;m at this stage where I just wanna beat the game so badly that new enemies aren& #39;t scary either, they& #39;re just annoyances standing in my way to more story and maybe the last few scares.
Don& #39;t get me wrong, I understand that gaming is an expensive hobby and everyone wants to get the best bang for their buck. However, all of my favorite and most life-changing experiences with gaming are from (relatively) short games, and I just wish AAA developers would realize
That there is more value in an experience of quality than one of quantity. Especially when it comes to horror!
That& #39;s it for now, may update this thread once I& #39;ve beaten the game
