The infamous Steve Bettis' list of 5. I keep getting asked about it so here is the position.

We were never confining our choice to just 4 names (+Hecky). These were managers of interest that we couldn't yet talk to directly as they were in jobs.

Jokanovic was not on that...
...list because he was coming out of contract. We had initiated talks a while back (hence why his odds plummeted in the betting markets) but not progressed beyond that at that time. It was never a case of your not on the so called "shortlist"

The inclusion of Hecky has...
...clearly backfired with the abject displays since that interview but could Steve really exclude the man in post? What if we had won 5 on the spin? However the fans taking that as somehow the club "buttering us up" was far from the truth.

As for cheap options etc. Jokanovic...
...does command a large salary but so would others currently in jobs except they also come with severance fees attached as they are under contract. If anything he is the "cheap" option.

The club looks like it is dragging its feet but remember only our season finished...
...weeks ago, others didn't and, due to the importance of the role, we were always going to be chasing those doing well, i.e. in play offs.

The club is making mistakes currently off the field but the Prince "loves football and money" as he said in his interview. The best way...
...to do that is for the Blades to bounce back at the first attempt. If we don't he loses money.

Choosing a manager is always difficult, a risk, and the outcome never predictable. We have a side that feels like it is at the end of its cycle and significant negative momentum...
...next season will have its lows even if it ends up ultimately successful.

We are all disappointed at the moment but at least we have the joy of returning to what we love, live football, the banter, the arguments, the goals, the upset and the pre and post match traditions....
...relegation watching remotely has been like a slow death.

Trust in the process, the owner wants the same success as we do, if we don't succeed next season it won't be for the want of trying or taking short cuts in the next manager choice.

Yes there will be player sales...
...but the budget will still be top 3 next season, when could we last say that in the championship?

Soon you will be back at the Lane with your dad, mum, kid, partner, mates...lets be positive and not let the negatives take over.

Up the Blades and whoever we choose as the...
...next man in charge give him a chance, back him, he won't be a Chris, totally irreplaceable, but he will start from a much better place than Chris did.

Be patient a little bit longer, new man, new squad, new league table will not be far off.
