Good morning.

So.

I have an announcement.
Effective immediately, starting today, I'm gonna start charging every single person a 'housecall' fee every single time they want me to check 'this one little thing' for them.
A lot of people hit me up every day, asking for help with this lil thing, or help with that lil thing, or to check this or that, and I always do it out of the kindness of my heart.

But my family is like 9 months behind on rent.

I can't be doing free work anymore.
And like, here's a thing.

My knowledge has taken me years, DECADES, to accrue.

And a lot of what I do? Isn't just sharing knowledge. Its also emotional labor.

Its putting in the time, effort, and energy, to have to say "Ok. So."
I've helped hundreds, if not thousands, of people throughout the years on this kind of stuff and still in the last two years, I haven't made a total of $15,000 COMBINED.

And this is for both my wife and myself to live on.
And once we start having to pay our backrent back, we're gonna be even more fucked.

So, effective immediately, anyone who wants me to check 'one little thing' will be charged a housecall fee.

If you want work done, you gotta pay for it. Even loved ones and friends.
Housecall fee will be based on what is asked, amount of labor required, amount of time required, and how much further training and teaching is required about said project.
I'd say "I hope you all will understand" but here's the real kicker -- I have been doing free labor for decades.

I don't care if yall understand. I'm tired, and I have to take care of my family.

So you *will* understand.
I regularly talk about how much I love yall and how much my work means to me, and how much I enjoy helping you, but I need to take care of my family.

My family *needs* this.

Thank you.
