hello fellow Jews, I know that unlearning zionism & the anti-Palestinian racism that it engenders can take time, but this is absolutely not the time to center non-Palestinian Jewish voices on the occupation.

if you’re speaking over Palestinian people, you’re complicit.
does antisemitism sometimes emerge in anti-Israel rhetoric? yes.

but our anger at this needs to be directed towards the zionists who conflate Jewishness with zionism & medinat yisrael. Not at the people who are directly harmed by zionism in any iteration.
Your personal interpretation of zionism & Jewish self-determination is immaterial to the conversation.

Regardless of what zionism and medinat yisrael “mean to you,” their existence is directly causing the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people. Full stop.
We as Jews need to better educate ourselves & one another.

We need to acknowledge the generational trauma & history of diaspora that has instilled in our community a sense of profound fear. ultimately, this fear of antisemitic violence (a valid fear)
has caused us to perpetrate the same sort of violence against Palestinians as our people have faced time and time again. The way to escape oppression is NOT to become the oppressors, to assimilate into & perpetuate European structures of whiteness and colonialism
at the expense of others. The way to collective liberation is a free Palestine, where refugees have a right of return and all people there have equal rights regardless of religion, or ethnic or national origin.

listen to Palestinian voices and support their struggle. Period.
