1/12 Thread: How @DenverPolice Traumatized my Mom & held her at gunpoint, in the cold rain, in the early hours of Mother’s Day morning, for NO FUCKING REASON, a thread: Let’s begin. It’s 2am, 3 DPD officers are outside my Mom’s house, lights glaring, guns drawn.

2/12 My mom thinks they’re pulling someone over on the side of her house, bc they’re yelling commands like “get out of the car!” & “Walk towards us!” She’s looking out her bedroom window, trying to figure out what’s happening/worrying that they’re start shooting toward her house.

3/12 She’s looking out the window & the pigs start flashing lights up at her. She moves away from the window, bc they just shined that shit in her eyes, which is very disorienting. DPD gets on their speakers, demanding everyone come out of the house.

4/12 My mom, scared & confused as to why they’re even there, goes down to the door.
She opens the door, & DPD starts yelling at her to come outside, with her hands up. It’s cold, & rain is pouring down hard as fuck. She tells them “I’m only in my nightgown”. They tell her

5/12 it doesn’t matter come out now w/ her hands up. My mom is now standing outside of her house, In the pouring rain, cold, confused,scared, & in her pajamas.They start yelling they “got a call about a man by the car, w/ a gun”. She doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

6/12 They keep yelling about a man w/ a beard w/ a gun. My brother has a beard, so my mom asks them confused “my son?”. The pigs tell her “we wanna see him We need to talk w/ him”. (Keep in mind these motherfuckers still have a shotgun, and two automatic weapons pointed at my mom

7/12 My mom slowly turns toward her front door to call for my brother. Scared that if she turns too quickly they might shoot her on her front porch. We grew up in the Northside & My brother is a big Latino dude w/ tattoos etc. So, we obviously don’t trust cops, since they usually

8/12 murder brown folks like us. My brother has mental health issues, & often becomes paranoid/defensive, so he’a definitely scared. My mom calms him down & tells him that they just want to talk to him.The cops ask my mom “is there anyone in that car?!” (the car parked out front)

9/12 She tells them no. When they were yelling earlier, “get out of the car!” etc, they were yelling AT AN EMPTY CAR. So these dumb fucks, hyped themselves up, got frustrated & aggressive bc they though somebody wouldn’t get out of a car, that was fucking empty the whole time.

10/12 They tell my mom that they “were thinking” she might’ve been being held hostage & that’s why they had guns drawn etc?? My brother had been outside of the house earlier, crying, talking loudly w/ someone.He wasn’t yelling, there was no gun involved.

11/12 The cops realize that literally nothing had happened & the alleged call they received was completely unsubstantiated. Today, my mom is exhausted. She couldn’t sleep last night & was continuously woken up

12/12 by night terrors, in which she was outside in the rain again w/ guns pointed at her & the cops start shooting her. She’s traumatized, anxious, every time she hears a noise outside, she’s scared it’s the cops again/they’re gonna come into her house & shoot her/my brother.

This is the phone call I woke up to today, from my mother. So, thanks @DenverPolice for traumatizing my mom on Mother’s Day because y’all are a bunch of delusional trigger happy murderous pigs. Motherfucking ACAB, especially DPD.

We all know they would NEVER respond like this to a call in a white neighborhood. But y’all really wonder why we fucking hate cops. ALL THEY DO IS TERRORIZE US
