Section 1 of the Constitution of Canada gives governments the authority and responsibility to override freedom and liberty in a limited number of situations. A global deadly pandemic is one of those situations.

However, Christian Nationalists, paleolibertarians and white supremacists have partnered to use Covid public health restrictions to further their agenda and consolidate power and support.

Not just in Alberta. Not just in Canada. But across North America and many other locations.

Many have the belief that Kenney and UCP are struggling with their base supporters. Untrue.

Every arrest, report of fines and locked building is being amplified across North America and being used to consolidate anger and rage within the Christian Nationalist community.

I’ve been documenting the Dominionist political movement in Canada for about 4 years. So have many others.

It is by no means a small fringe movement. Seventy five percent of Alberta UCP MLAs and a corresponding 75% of CPC MPs belong to this political movement.

That reality is neither conjecture nor over exaggeration. It is an uncomfortable and worrisome truth.

While many minimize Grace Baptist Church and Artur Pawlowski’s Calgary based Street Church as fringe anomalies, they are denying the dangerous threat being consolidated.

It’s taken decades of disinformation, propaganda from both ends of the political spectrum and coordinated smear campaigns to get to this point.

But what is happening in Alberta is politically dystopian.

Few are acknowledging the inherent danger of the increasing animosity.

Most prefer to laugh off the political machinations of various radicalized libertarian groups attempting to consolidate power through intimidation of protests and legal manipulation of the Canadian court system.

A coordinated political strategy that has been deployed across Canada, the US, most of Western Europe and many other social democracies.

Continued denial that this is a global phenomenon, coordinated and well funded, has permitted those conducting it to gain ground & support.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist. But there is a concerted effort being made to change the interpretation of the constitution in Canada and many other nations to reject liberalist and humanist thought, beliefs and policy and adopt rigid libertarian interpretations.

The series of screen shots I’ve attached throughout this thread are from across Canada and the US Christian Nationalist Twitter community.

Undeniably the arrest of Pawlowski, forced shutting of Grace Life Church and Whistle Stop Cafe is being circulated across North America.

Accompanying commentary by pastors and congregants calls for the radicalized community to fight back, violently if necessary, ignore secular laws in favour of extremist biblical interpretation, remove covid restrictions and overthrow leaders who legislate for public safety.

If that isn’t a direct threat & challenge to section 1 of the Constitution, then I don’t know what is.

These incidents are being used to justify further dissent and flouting public health laws. Creating multiple Constitutional court challenges.

They are placing pressure on regional governments (in Canada and the US) to acquiesce to their demands or face more forceful retaliation by the partnership of white supremacists, libertarians and Christian nationalists.

The growing pressure from FN in Northern Alberta has permitted the federal government to become more involved. Though premier Kenney has refused federal intervention off reserve.

But FN have a special relationship with the Crown in regards to healthcare and a direct line of communication speaking nation to nation to the PM. FN do not require the premier to speak on behalf of FN peoples to negotiate public health interventions during an emergency.

Therefore, many Treaty 8 Chiefs have exercised their rights to request assistance from the federal government but not limited their request for support and services to mitigate the covid rampage that is currently plaguing Northern Alberta to reserve land.

They have been discussing with and informing the federal government of the inadequate covid response by UCP in all of Northern Alberta. And can identify the efforts of covid deniers and disbelievers across the region. In abundant detail.

@ryanjespersen held an interview with Chief Adam Allan recently. Prior to that interview, the provincial government refused to invest any resources or assistance in RMWB. Or anywhere else in Alberta.

Since that interview and the discussions held with federal Health Minister, Indigenous Issues Minister and the PM, UCP has changed their tune.

Apparently First Nations leaders can read section 1 of the constitution too, not just section 35.

Please inform him it was my GGG grandfather, Peter Erasmus jr. who suggested & convinced FN Chiefs to request a “medicine chest” as the official interpreter & negotiator for Treaty 6 FN Chiefs.

As a Western European highly educated Métis man he was well aware of healthcare and the improvements it would make in indigenous communities. Yet he chose to live a humble life among his people.

Education has been highly valued among members of my Métis family.

Did I mention a high number of Treaty 6 & 7 First Nations individuals have adopted left libertarianism, evangelical faith, and chosen to partner with UCP and the oil industry for land access and fossil fuel development approval in exchange for prosperity, jobs and power.

That has not been the majority experience of Treaty 8 Chiefs, many who have opted to preserve pristine traditional land for cultural heritage preservation.

Terrill and I represent two disparate sub groups of indigenous people.

Check your bias sir. Indigenous people do NOT have a hive mind.

Libertarianism and extremist evangelical Christian Nationalism are not consistent with traditional indigenous ways of being and worldview. Which I’ve detailed in numerous threads for 3 years.

And this is what happens when mainstream Canadians believe all indigenous people have one communal thought. You get blocked.

It makes one wonder why Terrill Tailfeathers is working so hard to undermine an open sourced narrative that advances the rights of Treaty 8 FN Chiefs.

I’ve repeatedly warned that violence is escalating.

UCP crack down on enforcement is giving Dominionist movement everything it needs to consolidate power.

Sending out screen shots of police vehicles in crosshairs is a clear message.

Kenney and UCP are providing all the provocation this Christian Nationalist tinder keg needs to erupt into violence.

That’s what extremists do when they don’t get what they want.

So what do they want?

For Alberta government to adopt the belief that god will protect “good Christians” from covid. And boy it sucks to be a non Christian or a bad one. But that’s your problem, not theirs.

The Liberty Coalition is a white supremacist Christian Nationalist consortium of like minded libertarians who believe or at least report that they believe god gives them the freedom and liberty to impose his “natural laws” on society.

So if you die from covid, or you’re sick and never completely recover, that’s god passing judgement.

And since covid restriction enforcement has been haphazard at best, you’ve got a ton of entitled far right libertarians ready and willing to enforce god’s natural laws.

Don’t say I didn’t warn people. Believe what you want to believe. But this is coming to a head soon. Kenney will either step down and allow Nixon to assume a more authoritarian leadership that ignores all covid restrictions or violence will become far more prevalent.
