@CA_EDD The process for filing a new claim when you already have an account is very unclear and difficult to navigate. I finished with @IDme and clicked on the link from the email and it directs me to create a new account.
When I try to create a new account it tells me that I can only have one account per email address. But it doesn& #39;t give me any guidance as to how to connect this ID verification with my existing account.
This process is unclear and getting someone on the phone is impossible. I& #39;ve called literally thousands of times over the past several weeks and NEVER gotten through to a human being. If I send a message through the contact me form online it goes unanswered.
The way it feels to me, we claimants are paying the cost of @CA_EDD& #39;s past incompetence in these delays in receiving our benefits. I& #39;ve followed what I& #39;ve been asked to do to a T and there& #39;s no indication that anyone at EDD is working on my claim at all.
It& #39;s certainly true the the pandemic put unprecedented strain on the system, but at this point the continued incompetence of that department is going to become a political liability for @GavinNewsom.
And I& #39;m going to start making videos of the ridiculously convoluted system you& #39;ve set up to do my part to help all of the thousands of Californians who are suffering due to @CA_EDD& #39;s inability to get its act together.
At a certain point, when our government fails us, and we fail to hold them accountable, we share in the blame. I hope all of the CA news media will follow this thread for a detailed view of the ways @CA_EDD is dropping the ball, from the point of view of a frustrated claimant.
