@CA_EDD The process for filing a new claim when you already have an account is very unclear and difficult to navigate. I finished with @IDme and clicked on the link from the email and it directs me to create a new account.
When I try to create a new account it tells me that I can only have one account per email address. But it doesn't give me any guidance as to how to connect this ID verification with my existing account.
This process is unclear and getting someone on the phone is impossible. I've called literally thousands of times over the past several weeks and NEVER gotten through to a human being. If I send a message through the contact me form online it goes unanswered.
The way it feels to me, we claimants are paying the cost of @CA_EDD's past incompetence in these delays in receiving our benefits. I've followed what I've been asked to do to a T and there's no indication that anyone at EDD is working on my claim at all.
It's certainly true the the pandemic put unprecedented strain on the system, but at this point the continued incompetence of that department is going to become a political liability for @GavinNewsom.
And I'm going to start making videos of the ridiculously convoluted system you've set up to do my part to help all of the thousands of Californians who are suffering due to @CA_EDD's inability to get its act together.
At a certain point, when our government fails us, and we fail to hold them accountable, we share in the blame. I hope all of the CA news media will follow this thread for a detailed view of the ways @CA_EDD is dropping the ball, from the point of view of a frustrated claimant.
