What would it take for us to find a leader who would just focus on the following 5 (1) Make tax filing really simple, broaden base & start harsh punishments for major evaders (2) Make all govt processes digital, simple & closely monitored for efficiency (3) Identify real, 1/

existing models of social entrepreneurship, innovation & enterprise, celebrate & highlight them & build around them (4) Use technology & start multiple channels with 24 hour quality educational progs that can be accessed anywhere, using best Pakistani faculty here/abroad- many 2/

will happily volunteer, while formal system fixed (5) Start local & mohallah level schemes, competitions & initiatives for all kinds of civic improvements, cleanliness, greenery, kitchen gardens, recycling etc for immediate visible improvements. There can be another 5 or a 3/

different 5 foci. My point is so much can be done with relatively less funds, while we fight bigger fights 4 civilian supremacy, consider constitutional & political design, seek growth & harder reforms. So much can be done simply by coordinating & synergizjng the existing 4/

human resources & simple tech solutions. I do realize even these require tackling of political economy & those who will impede. But main issue appears to be lack of political will, ideas & a culture that keeps all good & smart people away. We need to build virtuous circles 5/5
