In an aside to a current hot topic, I find this argument that you can no longer use the word “slur” to mean what the word “slur” actually means ludicrous. In short, this is nonsense...

(I assume this person looked up the word to prove their point, was disappointed and then thought: um, okay it does mean that, but we have to now pretend it doesn’t.)

I remember having an argument about this here with someone and they proudly sat up and said: “Well by that definition ‘racist’ is a slur.”

OF COURSE racist is a slur.

But “moron” clearly is a slur.

WHAT?
