1) The Sibling..

The sibling.. One of the 13 children in her big family.. Amma was one of the 4 gals and they had 9 other brothers.. No proper education..Amma doesn't know how to read/write.. except her name and alphabets.. went to work at a very young age.. say 16 ish..!

2) The accident
At 19 .. while working in a glass making company.. one very unfortunate morning.. she had fun her fingers thru the machines in the company and lost her 5 fingers from the Right hand.. No insurance claims.. No medical compensation.. Amma's 1st lost..

3) Y still not married?!
Hitting the 30s and societal pressure to get"married" haunted Amma while most of her siblings young and old were already married with kids..Just find someone in the temple said my Granny cos Amma loved templing.. #SMT.. she was always there volunteering

4) He's the RIGHT one!
Arranged marriage.. Alcoholic appa.. Amma knew and was well liked by everyone in the area.. and so alot of them "warned" about the toxic marriage that awaits.. Amma even saw her wedding invitation inside a coffeeshop rubbish bin 1 day..

5) He's nice .. only when..
Appa was a nice man.. but hell turns itself in when alcohol takes over.. I've seen fights as a kid.. quarrels between them both ended up in flying kicks and punches on amma's preggo Tummy.. Police protection order for Amma me n thambi..

6) Sole Breadwinner
Alcoholism doesn't go well with workaholic..Appa - nope not a stable job.. Amma - School cleaner..
2 kids and Appa to feed at home.. Savings.. our needs and wants and household to run..She did and is still running it like a pro on her own!

7)The Widow
Abusive marriage.. 10 years later..Appa suicides in a drunk state.. Amma .. Me (10yrs) & Thambi (7yrs).. Relatives who hinted her about how remarrying is a taboo.. But Amma stood so Strong.. Stronger then before!

8) Happy Family
Through all the struggles and pain and endless and tiring nights being the sole breadwinner..she brought us up.. we studied.. started working .. got me married off.. we were all happy.. she had her first grandchild.. her BIGGEST HAPPINESS..

9) The HeartAche
In jus 1 and a half month of enjoying the moments of becoming a patti.. she lost her son! My brother..who decided to end his life the exact same way.. same place.. as how my father did.. 15 yrsafter facing appa's death.m I saw my Amma struggling to pull thru tis

10) Age is catching up
After all the funeral.. grievance..denial..acceptance.. Doctor's appt turned out as the next shock we had to face..Diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure! Jus 1 mnth after the son's lost.. we heard this.. still refused to quit working n was feeding herself
